Mount Pleasant, SC (October 23, 2017) – Race through historic Mount Pleasant during the only 5K road race held in the Old Village. Hosted by the Town of Mount Pleasant, the18th Annual Old Village Harbor 5K (OVH5K) will take place on November 11 at Mount Pleasant’s beloved Alhambra Hall.
Presented by Lucey Mortgage Corporation, the OVH5K is a unique Lowcountry race. The only race located in historic Mount Pleasant, the 5K gives runners the opportunity to take in the breathtaking beauty of the Old Village. Additionally, the OVH5K is one of the few dog and stroller-friendly 5K races in the Charleston area.
“Whether you are a new runner or race veteran, this 5K is for you,” says Jimmy Millar, Deputy Director of the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department. “Along with being family friendly, the race starts and ends overlooking the Charleston Harbor. Our runners are able to take in amazing Lowcountry views throughout the entire race.”
Along with the beautiful location, other interesting elements make this 5K a race to remember. Tate Nation, a revered local artist, will provide artwork for the race T-shirts for the 17th year in a row. Additionally, the OVH5K race is a USATF Certified course with marked mile markers.
The race will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. at Alhambra Hall on November 11. Early registration is $25 before November 6 and includes a T-Shirt. The registration fee for military members is $20. Late registration (and day of) is $35 and begins November 7. A t-shirt cannot be guaranteed for late registrants. Packet pick-up will take place at Fleet Feet Sports.
