WHAT: As part of our five-year cycle to maintain safety, resiliency and reliability of the electric system, Dominion Energy will begin safeguarding overhead distribution lines from dangerous vegetation throughout sections of Mt. Pleasant later this month.
WHEN: Monday, June 6, 2022, from 5 - 7 p.m.
WHERE: Alhambra Hall, 131 Middle Street, Mount Pleasant, SC
WHY: Trees that have grown too close to overhead power lines are both a fire hazard and an issue of employee and public safety. Trees and tree limbs represent the No. 1 reason for power outages on our system. Routine safeguarding of overhead facilities from dangerous vegetation, along with routine circuit inspection and maintenance, remains critical preparation for severe weather as we work year-round to ensure a safe and resilient system and keep the lights on for all the customers we serve.
The project will encompass sections of: The Groves, Cooper Estates, Bayview Acres, Patriot’s Point, and Old Village
To help residents better understand the scope of the project, oversized maps marking the streets where work is planned will be on display. The workshop will be set up in informational stations to allow interested residents the opportunity to drop in at their convenience.
