Description:
Construct a New Town Hall to replace the current Town complex (including a Judicial Center and Police Department) which is currently comprised of separate buildings. The new building would house all departments that are part of the existing complex. One additional facility which is not included in current project cost is a stand alone gym.

Status:
Construction remains on schedule. Recently met with interior furniture consultants to discuss Council Chambers fixed seating. The Furniture Selection Committee is touring several warehouses this week to select desking and table options for the new facility.

New Town Hall Gym

Description:

Construct a New Town Hall Gym will replace the old Town Hall Gym plus house the Recreation Department, Wellness Clinic, Fitness Center and have a common area.

Status:
Received preliminary DRB approval with comments this past month. Staff recently met with the architects to review the comments and discuss next steps. The design team will make a few minor adjustments to the design per DRB direction and re-submit.

Memorial Waterfront Park Phase 2

Description:
Design and build phase II of the Waterfront Park. Possible amenities to be considered during design include: amphitheater, kayak launch, public docks and water access (for public and water taxi), repurposed gift shop with a focus on a public-private partnership and possible roof top venue, walkthrough water feature, enhanced public transit stops, and a tribute to the Shem Creek Shrimping industry.

Description:
This project is tentatively set to begin January 2018. SCE&G is surveying currently for placement of transformers and switch gear which will require private property owner approval. Town staff and MPW staff will set up regular meetings for business and residents in the area prior to construction to develop a plan for communication, parking, and pedestrian access to businesses.
