A Desirable, Affordable & Safe Lifestyle
A mild climate, excellent public schools, low crime rates, abundant housing in a wide price range, ample opportunities for spousal employment, and access to artistic and cultural amenities are fueling the region’s rapid growth. These strong regional factors, and the amenities found in the Town of Mount Pleasant, make it one of the premier communities to be found in the United States - just ask our residents.

From an employer prospective, the Town and the Charleston Region make it easy for companies to attract and retain key employees, while drawing on a substantial regional workforce that places a high value on the area’s quality of life and lower cost of living. Residents elect not to pursue employment opportunities outside the region and are constantly searching for more challenging positions locally. In short, the region's workforce offers prospective employers a lifestyle that is hard to leave and a high quality of life that makes it easy for expanding and relocating companies to attract and retain key employees.

Superb Childhood Education
It's uncanny the number of local CEO's who site Mount Pleasant's award-winning K-12 system as a prime factor when choosing to locate their business within the town.  100% of our schools have achieved an "excellent" rating from the SC Department of Education year-over-year.  In 2010, Mount Pleasant was home to the national principal of the year.

Charleston County School District (CCSD) is the second largest school system in South Carolina.  CCSD's programs and schools offer a portfolio of options  including neighborhood, charter, magnet, IB (international baccalaureate), and Montessori schools.

    Higher Education
Beyond K-12, the Charleston region has more than two dozen college and university campuses providing easy access to a full spectrum of higher education opportunities, from software development to hospitality management.  Colleges in the region are regularly ranked among the nation's best by Peterson's, U.S. News & World Report, and other respected guides.
