MPRD IN MOTION
Mount Pleasant is proud to offer opportunities for our community to participate in races and other events. From the longstanding Old Village Harbor 5k to the more recent Sweetgrass Half Marathon, we'd love to have you join us!
Annual Sweetgrass Half Marathon
The 4th Annual Sweetgrass Half Marathon will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024 from 7:30 – 11 am. at the Park West Recreation Complex. Runner packet pickup occurs the afternoon before or the morning of the race at the Park West Recreational Complex concession stand.

Old Village Harbor 5k
The 24th Annual Old Village Harbor 5k will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023 from 8:30 – 11 am at Alhambra Hall. Packet pick: Fleet Feet of Mt. Pleasant starting at 11am Friday until 6pm / Race-day ONSITE starting at 7:30 am until 8:15 am. Learn more about the Old Village Harbor 5k.
MPRD Partner Races
The Mount Pleasant Recreation Department also partners with other area races, including the IOP Connector Run & Walk for the Child and the Cooper River Bridge Run. Both offer spectacular views to participants.
Cooper River Bridge Run
The Cooper River Bridge Run is the 3rd largest 10K in the country. Join the fun Saturday, April 6, 2024 for the 47th Annual Cooper Bridge Run, and help us promote Health & Wellness in the community! The race includes world-class competition in a unique setting with unparalleled participant satisfaction.

IOP Connector Run & Walk for the Child
The Isle of Palms Connector Run on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, is a challenging road race across the IOP Connector. Starting at 8 AM on the Isle of Palms, crossing into Mount Pleasant and returning to IOP, 10K and 5K runners and walkers of all experience levels and ages will be rewarded with beautiful vistas of the Atlantic Ocean, Intracoastal Waterway, local creeks, marshes and waterfowl. Concludes with a festival!
