The Scenic Highway’s program provides for the conservation, enhancement, and promotion of the route’s intrinsic qualities. The Federal Highway Administration identifies six intrinsic qualities that support a Scenic Highway designation: 

  • Historic Resources
  • Cultural Resources
  • Archaeological Resources
  • Scenic Resources
  • Natural Resources
  • Recreational Resources

Mathis Ferry Road and Longpoint Road are designated Scenic Highways for which a Corridor Management Plan was completed.
