The Town of Mount Pleasant has contracted McCormick and Taylor to evaluate opportunities for improvements to Alhambra Hall, the playground, and the overall site. Public outreach is being done through in-person meetings and online surveys. The improvements will be guided by the requests and needs of the Town and visitors of the site. The project aims to create a plan to rejuvenate the many features and sites of Alhambra Hall while enhancing the accessibility, safety, enjoyment, and connectivity of Alhambra Hall, the grounds, and the playground.
CONCEPTUAL LANDSCAPE FOR ALHAMBRA GROUNDS AND PLAYGROUND:
A second meeting was held at Alhambra Hall on September 7th from 5:00 to 7:30 PM for public outreach for the Alhambra Improvements Project. The Renderings that were shared at that meeting are available above.
*PREVIOUS CONCEPTUAL IMPROVEMENTS TO EDWARD'S PARK (NOTE: THE TOWN WILL NOT BE PURSUING THE EDWARDS PARK CONCEPT AT THIS TIME):
The Edwards Park concept was developed as a response to community feedback gathered during initial public meetings regarding improvements to Alhambra Hall and its playground. Initial feedback highlighted concerns about pet safety and non-compliance with leash laws at Alhambra Hall. The Edwards Park project was conceptualized to offer a safe alternative for the community. However, in light of the community's feedback and considerations, the Town will not be pursuing the Edwards Park concept at this time. The focus will remain on the improvements to Alhambra Hall, grounds, and playground to begin next summer.
