In order to maintain the unique sense of place of Mount Pleasant, all new commercial construction, remodeling and alteration activity must be approved through the commercial design review process. The design review process establishes a systematic and uniform review procedure for proposed construction based on the  design review guidelines

Information on projects going through the design review process can be found on the Projects and Applications Map.

Upon approval through the design review process, plans can be submitted for permitting. Permit plans are reviewed by many entities including but not limited to the Building Inspections Division, Planning and Engineering Division, Fire Department, and Mount Pleasant Waterworks through the Design Review Team. For more information on the development design review team, please contact Julianna Wright in our Engineering & Development Services Department at 843-856-3080.

Information regarding applications and submittals can be found on the Commercial Design Review Board webpage or by contacting Jake Carter in the Planning, Land Use, and Neighborhoods Department at planning@tompsc.com or by calling 843-884-1229.
