Beginning June 8, no hard courts will be available for reservations until after 12:00 pm for Summer Camps
Clay Courts are unavailable from 1:00 - 3:30 pm daily for watering
Call ahead, up to two(2) days in advance
Reservations are for 90 minutes (you may reserve up to two (2) courts at a time)
All Players must either have a current membership or pay a court fee
All players must check-in when you arrive to receive your court assignment
Please arrive at your reserved time and allow the court user ahead of you to exit before entering the court
Anyone using the clay courts must groom the entire court, not just the play area once finished
No pets or alcohol allowed
Please follow the USTA recommendations on playing safely to protect yourself and fellow players
- Ball Machine rentals are available for 30 or 60 minutes
All annual memberships purchased before March 17, 2020 will receive a 2.5 month extension

The Mount Pleasant Tennis Complex is located at 889 Whipple Road. Facilities include the Margaret “Mugsy” Kerr tennis building, 12 hard tennis courts, four clay tennis courts, eight Quick Start courts, and a playground for ages 5-12. The tennis complex hosts junior and adult tournaments and is home to USTA and CALTA league teams.
The Mount Pleasant Tennis Complex, Royall Avenue Tennis Courts, and Park West Recreation Complex facilities offer clinics for adults and juniors and Summer Camps. Ball machine rental and racquet stringing are available at the Mount Pleasant Tennis Complex.

Adult Tennis Clinics
Our Adult Tennis Clinics are a great place for both beginners and seasoned players to fine-tune their strokes and get exercise in a fun and non-competitive atmosphere. Participants often find that this is a great place to meet other players who become hitting partners and USTA teammates.

Head Tennis Professional Clay Maynor
MPRD teaching pros are led by Clay Maynor. Clay is a 30 year USPTA P-1 teaching professional. Clay was previously at Highland Country Club in Fayetteville, NC and Mountain Gate Country Club in Los Angeles, California. Clay also served as the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Campbell University. Throughout his career Clay has worked with every level of player from the beginning adult and junior to nationally ranked players. He is available for private lessons and oversees MPRD’s junior and adult clinic programs. Clay has been teaching at the Mount Pleasant Tennis Complex for 20 years.

Timothy Kealy is a 20+ year USPTA P- 1 teaching professional. His father was a tennis professional as well, so Tim was practically born with a racquet in his hand and has been playing his whole life. In his 20 years of teaching, he finds he enjoys teaching all levels and all ages, with an extra passion for coaching doubles and playing on league teams. Tim is happy to be a part of the MPRD team and looks forward to helping you grow passionate about tennis through junior clinics, adult clinics as well as private and group lessons.

Bradley Drummond comes to us from Kansas City where he was the Director of Tennis at Oakwood Country Club and Head Tennis Coach for Notre Dame de Sion High School. Bradley is a USPTA Elite Tennis Professional, certified Cardio Tennis Instructor and is a USRSA racquet stringer. He is an avid USTA league player, Captain and Coach.
