MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (March 1, 2016) – Mount Pleasant Mayor Linda Page and Mount Pleasant Town Council held a ribbon cutting ceremony today to mark the completion of the Long Point Road On-Ramp capital improvement project. In attendance were Councilmembers Will Haynie, Mark Smith, Elton Carrier, Gary Santos, Jim Owens and Paul Gawrych.
The scope of work included a right turn lane on Long Point Road to access the westbound entrance ramp to I-526. The project called on the combined efforts of the Mount Pleasant Transportation Department, Gulfstream Construction, CDM Smith and Dennis Corporation.
“The Long Point Road and I-526 on-ramp project is important to our transportation network,” said Mayor Page. “This capital improvement project was ranked number one by Town Council for submittal to Charleston County’s 2015 Sales Tax Annual Allocation Projects. We received numerous requests from the public to mitigate the area and we have listened.”
