MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (April 12, 2016) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has contracted with Banks Construction Company to resurface Ben Sawyer Boulevard, from east of Royall Hardware to the foot of the Ben Sawyer Bridge. The construction will begin within the next two (2) weeks and is projected to take four (4) to six (6) weeks to complete. The Contractor will be working in the roadway during daytime and possible some nighttime hours.
The construction will include the milling of and repaving of the roadway along with some sidewalk and driveway work. The milling will result in rough, grooved surface until the paving is completed.
All vehicles, especially motor cyclist and bicyclist should utilize extra caution when driving on this surface.
The motoring public should expect delays in travel time and may want to use alternate routes of travel during construction. Remember “Let them work, let them live.”
