MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (August 11, 2016) - Mount Pleasant Mayor Pro Tem Gary Santos, Mount Pleasant Council Members Bob Brimmer, Elton Carrier and Mark Smith, along with Mount Pleasant Business Association Chris Staubes yesterday participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony at gogogreens, Iron Gate Plaza, 1150 Hungry Neck Blvd. Members of the community later joined for a happy hour event with live music, drink specials and complimentary menu samplings.
“We are delighted to welcome gogogreens to our business community,” said Mayor Pro Tem Santos. “goggreens offers a great culinary choice for our residents and visitors. They source local and organic and provide predominantly raw food, cutting down on our energy footprint. They are plant-centric, vegan and gluten-free. We welcome gogogreens to Mount Pleasant!”
Since opening its doors in May of this year, gogogreens Mount Pleasant held off on a formal ribbon cutting until the end of the summer. Now, after a few months of operation, the entire gogogreens team is eager and excited for their official welcoming to the Town of Mount Pleasant! In honor of the celebration, gogogreens will be giving away salad samplings to the first 25 guests to arrive, as well as offering all beverages at half-price. Additionally, local musician Chris Dodson will be performing in the restaurant throughout the event.
In addition to a ribbon cutting ceremony, the event also serves as part of gogogreens weekly concert series held in conjunction with the nearby Awendaw Green Barn Jam concerts. Each Wednesday, gogogreens provides live music and a fun pre-party for local guests to enjoy prior to heading up to Awendaw, where there is also a gogogreens booth. The collaboration with Awendaw Green has been an integral part the restaurant’s acclimation to the Mount Pleasant community, and the gogogreens team is especially excited to combine it with this week’s special ribbon cutting ceremony.
