MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (August 22, 2016) – The last Music & Movies in the Park ends with the action-packed thriller Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Presented by Y 102.5, the final summer installment will feature the East Cooper Baptist Orchestra at Memorial Waterfront Park on Friday, August 26.
The Mac Dadddy food truck will serve dinner starting at 6:30 when the music begins. Plus, T&T Kettle Korn, Holy City Homemade Italian Ice, Charleston Festival Foods and Front Porch Churn will have plenty of sweets and frozen treats available to keep you cool.
The 501st Legion will entertain movie enthusiasts with authentic Star Wars characters while the orchestra plays, so be ready for abundant photo opportunities.
Bring your blankets and chairs to enjoy the last bit of summer with a sunset picnic in the park, then an evening of free entertainment with the Ravenel Bridge and Charleston Harbor as a backdrop.
“Having the 501st Legion in attendance while the East Cooper Baptist Orchestra plays Star Wars classics and other movie tunes is so exciting,” said Special Events Manager Nicole Harvey. “We encourage true fans to come in costume!”
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens is an action-adventure fantasy film rated PG-13. Set three decades after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, the film features superstars Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher and breakout artists Daisy Ridley and John Boyega.
Sunset is at approximately 8:00 and the movie will begin shortly after. Admission and parking are free. All ages are welcome.
