MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (September 14, 2016) - As an update to last week’s trash collection update, Town of Mount Pleasant trash collection crews are still running on a delayed schedule due to the effects of Tropical Storm Hermine.
Crews have been working around the clock, but are still looking at a slight delay in getting back to normal pick ups.
“Garbage routes are being completed on schedule, however the Public Services Department is still behind schedule collecting vegetative debris,” said Andy Weis, Town Deputy Director of Public Services.
Weis said that vegetative debris collection from the normal Monday and Tuesday routes has been completed, and that crews have collected approximately 75% of vegetative debris on the Wednesday route. When the Wednesday route is completed crews will start the Thursday route.
Weis said that he anticipates that collection of vegetative debris on the Thursday route will start Wednesday. Should it not be collected Wednesday, the collection would be scheduled for Thursday. The Public Services Department is prepared to continue collection on Friday and Saturday if required, Weis said.
Weis said that he looks forward to the collection schedule going back to normal for all garbage and trash by Monday.
