MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (December 14, 2016) - The Town of Mount Pleasant is accepting submissions for its 2017 Mayor’s Office Art Program until January 9, 2017. Each selected Mount Pleasant artist will have his or her artwork showcased at Town Hall to be viewed for two months by citizens and community leaders.
To apply, Mount Pleasant artists must submit photos of their artwork along with the completed application. Selected artists will have their artwork displayed for two months in the Mayor’s office.
Presented by the Town of Mount Pleasant and the Culture, Arts & Pride Commission, this program aims to promote local artists, to encourage interaction between the creative community, local businesses and residents, and to inspire community pride.
Moving forward into its fourth year, the Mayor’s Office Art Program began when Mayor Linda Page recognized an opportunity.
“It has been an honor using my office for the last few years to showcase the wonderfully talented local artists we have here in Mount Pleasant,” said Mayor Page. “I appreciate the work the CAP Commissioners have done with this program and I am grateful for the participation of so many of our town’s artists.”
The application and guidelines are available at www.tompsc.com or via email from Nicole Harvey at events@tompsc.com.
