MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (February 6, 2017) – </b>Mayor Linda Page and Mount Pleasant Town Council recently launched a new site allowing residents to track progress made on key strategic initiatives the Town is pursuing.
“We are excited to launch this new site – the first in South Carolina to use all three Socrata Open Data, Open Performance, and Open Budget modules. It places us among the best-in-class digital governments,” said Mayor Page. “It is another great step toward transparency and accountability. We are ensuring that everyone can now follow the progress of goals related to infrastructure, economic development, and public safety to name a few. This simple interactive platform can help residents better understand our long-term vision behind every initiative. The site offers supporting data and a narrative for each project.”
The Town is utilizing Socrata, which allows governments of all sizes to define and track their goals over time. Using Open Performance, the Town of Mount Pleasant can stimulate discussion, drive consensus, and communicate information to constituents. Socrata is the leading, global provider of open data and government performance management solutions.
“We believe that open data is helping government become a 21st century innovation accelerator, not just a service dispensary. This transformation is significant because it updates how citizens and governments interact, making more collaboration and a greater quality of life possible,” says Kevin Merritt the Founder and CEO of Socrata.
