MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (March 23, 2017) – The Town of Mount will kick off another capital improvement project on April 24 with the renovations of The R. L. Jones’ heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit, in accordance with code upgrades. Installation of the new HVAC unit will require the gym and pool to be closed. Construction is expected to last five weeks.
“There may be limited lap lanes open for swimming,” said Recreation Programs Division Chief Stacey Harrington. “However, much of the aquatic programming will be rescheduled to the Park West pool. The goal is to have the system operational before camps begin in June.”
“The RL jones center is a high-use 25-year-old building in need of significant maintenance and repairs. The dehumidification and temperature control system is 13 years old and a major component of the Jones Center capital improvements.
