MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (June 21, 2017) – The Town of Mount Pleasant is teaming up with the South Carolina Swim Club (SCSC) to host a Mutual of Omaha Breakout Swim Clinic featuring Olympian Jason Lezak on Saturday, June 24 at the R.L. Jones Center.
“South Carolina Swim Club (SCSC) is excited to partner with the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department to bring four time Olympic Gold Medalist, Jason Lezak, to Mount Pleasant for this exciting clinic,” said SCSC Board President Brian Chunn. “This is great opportunity for kids of all ages to learn the fundamental elements of competitive swimming in a fun and exciting atmosphere at the RL Jones Recreation Center with Olympian Jason Lezak."
This rare special event for area swimmers is a chance to learn from the best. Jason Lezak is a 4X Olympian and World Record Holder. He was the USA Olympic Swim Team Captain. He was the anchor leg of the 4 X 100 free relay, the fastest relay in US history.
Jason Lezak is a legend in the world of competitive swimming. For the last two Olympics, he was the oldest man on the US Olympic Team. He has 8 Olympic medals and he’ll never be forgotten for his incredible anchor leg in the 4 x 100 Free relay at the 2008 Beijing Olympics when he beat France’s swimmer despite being nearly a body length behind him when he began the final leg of the race.
