MPW continues to await the results from sampling conducted last week. We have reached out to the lab to confirm that we are on target to receive those testing results later this week, and they confirmed but did not provide the exact day.
MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (UPDATE #4) - A public meeting will be held once we have received the results. The meeting date and time will be announced on our website (www.mountpleasantwaterworks.com), Facebook, released to the media, and emailed to customers.
We have received questions about the safety of the water and if customers should be boiling their water. Mount Pleasant Waterworks continues to test our water quality and safety on a daily basis and has no evidence that your water is unsafe to drink. We believe your water is safe. In the event, there was ever evidence of unsafe water we would be the first to tell you and would issue appropriate formal warnings.
During our community meeting on July 10th and in recent conversations with customers, the concern of tracking cancer cases has been brought up to MPW. While MPW does not have a role in tracking cancer cases in our area, we have reached out to SCDHEC to learn more about if and how information is tracked. South Carolina does have a Cancer Registry.
