MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (November 6, 2017) – The Town of Mount Pleasant budget manager recently received the Charleston Chief Financial Officer Council “Rising Star” award at the CCFO Council monthly dinner meeting.
Rachel Wagner - a second-year budget manager with the Town - received the award for her outstanding work in business financials.
“Rachel is very deserving of this award,” said Mount Pleasant Chief Financial Officer Marcy Cotov. "Her hard work and dedication to her craft are exemplary. The title of Rising Star could not have been given to a better financial professional.”
“It was an honor to receive this award,” Wagner said. “I'm privileged to work with an outstanding team, which has aided me in my professional growth."
The CFO Council, a nonprofit organization founded in 2014, is comprised of senior financial executives including CFO’s, controllers, finance vice presidents and treasurers in the Charleston, North Charleston, Summerville, and surrounding areas. The group also has resource companies as members which provide specialized knowledge and expertise that may be of value to SFE’s.
The awards are broken into two categories; senior financial executives and rising stars and are presented to individuals who excel above and beyond in their financial fields, said Charleston CFO Council founder Robert Bendetti.
"The Rising Star awards were created as a way for Charleston CFO Council members to recognize exceptional performance by their team members," said Bendetti. "Winners of the award exemplify excellence in their craft and diligence in their efforts."
