MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (March 23, 2018) – The Town of Mount Pleasant released its annual report Friday, providing a snapshot look at the Town’s year-in-review, looking back at accomplishments, major events and changes across each Town department in 2017.
The summary featured highlights on the new Town Hall municipal complex, capital improvements along with accolades garnered throughout the year.
“I am pleased to report 2017 was another highly successful year for the Town of Mount Pleasant,” Mount Pleasant Mayor Will Haynie said. “As the details of this report demonstrate, our key indicators are outstanding. There were many significant events, which will have positive impacts on our community over the long run.”
Some of the notable topics in the report included Public Services Department stormwater infrastructure repairs, Planning and Development Department public outreach efforts, and Transportation Department major roadway projects.
Several of the common themes throughout the report are resiliency, future-proofing and efficiencies.
The data inside the report was designed in a simple, creative and colorful way, making what is a complex organization and operation more easily digestible for readers. It accompanies the Town’s transparency initiatives, mirroring the data captured by eMPower, the Town’s interactive information transparency database.
“Looking forward, we, the newly elected leaders, will dedicate ourselves to properly managing growth in order to maintain our cherished quality of life,” Mayor Haynie said. “Twenty seventeen was a good year for Mount Pleasant, and our future looks even better.”
