MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (April 3, 2019) - Charleston
County’s Environmental Management Department (CCEM) is celebrating Earth
Day by hosting three free shred events located throughout the county. The shred
events will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, at the
following locations:
- Mount Pleasant DMV @ 1189 Sweetgrass Basket Pkwy, Mt. Pleasant 29466
- North
Charleston City Hall @ 2500
City Hall Ln, North Charleston 29406
- Signal
Point Road Convenience Center @ 1716
Signal Point Rd, Charleston 29412
CCEM
will accept confidential documents for free on-site shredding and recycling
from residents of Charleston County; no commercial business material will be
accepted. This is a shred event only; no other items will be accepted. The
events is rain or shine.
Earth
Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22. Worldwide, various events are
held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First celebrated in
1970, Earth Day events are now coordinated in more than 193 countries.
