MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (May 24, 2019) – As Lowcountry residents, businesses and visitors prepare to celebrate Memorial Day, the Town of Mount Pleasant reminds water-loving enthusiasts to stay safe on the ocean and help protect and preserve local natural resources.
“The momentum to minimize single-use plastic in our business community is strong,” said Business Development Manager John Holladay. “With our local economy and recreation being so dependent on our environment and waterways, we encourage residents, businesses and visitors to Be the Solution, Stop the Pollution.”
Mount Pleasant passed a single-use plastic ban ordinance, which became effective April 16. The new ordinance addresses environmentally acceptable packaging and products.
