MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (Sept. 6., 2019) - The Town of Mount Pleasant, in partnership with Mount Pleasant Waterworks (MPW), urges residents to exercise caution when placing hurricane debris near critical infrastructure. As both agencies continue to trim and push back debris off local roadways, residents will also be working through the weekend to clean debris from their properties. The Mount Pleasant Waste Management Division will begin collecting on the normal schedule on Monday, Sept. 9, with the expectation that routes may be delayed due to the high volume. Remember the following steps:
- DO NOT place any debris near or on top of utilities (stormwater drains, water meters, fire hydrants, manholes, etc.) to avoid damaging the critical structures.
- Trim all debris to be a max of 4ft in length.
- Separate yard debris piles from other trash piles.
