MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (July 15, 2020) - Last April, Governor McMaster ordered restrictions on business activity to help reduce the spread of coronavirus. The Town of Mount Pleasant explored options to help provide businesses with relief during that time. Relief efforts included providing for temporary measures that allowed businesses to use plastic products, such as plastic bags, and to post temporary signage to inform customers that they were open for business and what service options were available. These temporary measures have been in effect for approximately 100 days. Since then, South Carolina businesses have been allowed to reopen in certain capacities and with certain restrictions. Mount Pleasant has revisited the temporary relief measures and is now asking businesses to comply with the plastics ordinance as well as the sign ordinance. Please find the link below to read both the Environmentally Acceptable Packaging and Products Ordinance and the Town Sign Ordinance regarding temporary signs.
