MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (June 29, 2021) – Mount Pleasant Waterworks (MPW) released its 2020 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report. The report shows that the quality of MPW’s drinking water surpasses all regulations set by state and federal agencies and is based on the results of monitoring for the period of January 1 to December 31, 2020.
“We take our water quality very seriously,” said Operations Manager Allan Clum. “This report is our opportunity to explain what we do to protect the community’s drinking water supplies.”
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires community water systems to provide consumer confidence reports to their customers annually. These reports are also known as annual drinking water quality reports. The report compares the quality of water supplied by MPW against drinking water standards established by the EPA and the South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control. The report also explains where MPW drinking water comes from and how it is treated.
Clum invited MPW customers to learn more about the essential service the utility provides and to share the report with friends and family.
Customers can read the report online or request a printed copy by phone at (843) 884-9626 or email at customerservice@mpwonline.com
