Cooper River Bridge Run - Saturday April 2nd, 2022

On Saturday April 2nd there will be road closures, drone, and boating restrictions for the 45th Cooper River Bridge Run. 


The Ravenel Bridge will be closed in both directions at 7:00 am and will re-open when participants and crews are safely off of the road. 
Here is a list of scheduled road closures in Mount Pleasant:
The on-ramp to the Ravenel Bridge from Coleman Blvd will close at 6:00 a.m. 
The pedestrian walkway onto the Ravenel Bridge will close at 6:30 a.m. 
The Ravenel Bridge in both directions will close at 7:00 a.m.   
The wheelchair race starts at 7:20 a.m. and the running race starts at 8:00 a.m. 

US Hwy 17 South will be closed at Houston Northcutt Blvd. and all traffic will be sent onto Mathis Ferry Road. An alternant route is I-526 West.
New this year, the FAA has issued a temporary flight restriction for drones from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm on race day. The area is 2.5 miles from the Yorktown. https://tfr.faa.gov/save_pages/detail_2_1035.html
The Coast Guard has a security zone set up from 7:30 am to 11:00 am on race day which will prohibit boats and people to pass under the bridge.
