Mount Pleasant, S.C. (April 27, 2022) - Owner and Executive Chef Jaclyn Story with friends and staff, joined by Mayor Haynie and Councilman John Iacofano, along with Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce President-Elect Jennifer Maxwell and fellow Chamber members, participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Gala Desserts, located at 123 Pitt Street.
Jaclyn originally opened her cafe in Avondale in 2014 and has now moved it into the Old Village District in Mount Pleasant. Located in a historic home built in 1900, Gala Desserts is a European-style cafe serving specialty coffees, delicious food, and decadent desserts. Their full tea service can be enjoyed daily by reservation. Gala is famous for their chocolate mousse cake, chicken-cranberry panini, salted caramel martini, and fresh fig and manchego pastries.
Not only does Gala Desserts bake for their in-house guests, but they also specialize in wedding cakes and event desserts. Jaclyn is very passionate about meeting event clients and bringing joy to their special day. Each handcrafted cake and dessert is unique to fit the wishes of her clients.
