MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (September 30, 2022) - The Town of Mount Pleasant’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) located at Town Hall will move down to OPCON 2 at 7:00 p.m. Emergency personnel will shift activities from response to recovery, focusing on downed trees and their impacts on power lines. Mayor Will Haynie, who stayed at the EOC throughout the hurricane, commended emergency personnel and town staff for a seamless transition from daily operations to activation of the EOC.
“We closed Town facilities for a day and a half, but our staff did not miss a beat and implemented their teleworking schedule immediately,” he said. “We were closed but still serving the community during the emergency. I am very grateful for our dedicated staff and for the shift in Ian’s track, which protected us from the brunt of the storm’s impacts. We are hopeful for a quick restoration of power for all our residents and businesses.”
