MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (March 29, 2023) - The Town of Mount Pleasant is searching for qualified individuals to serve on its newly created GREEN (Green Space, Environment, Ecology, and Natural Resources) Commission.
The commission will be made up of nine volunteers with a mission to address matters related to conservation, natural resources, flood resilience, and green space. Members will convey the needs of the community to Town Council and staff.
Of the nine members, five should have demonstrated expertise in the areas of green space, environment, ecology, and/or natural resources. Six of the members must reside within the Town of Mount Pleasant’s corporate limits. Those who do not live within the town’s limits are welcome to apply but must be conservation stakeholders contiguous to and affected by the town.
Commission members will be appointed for an initial term of either one or two years.
