MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (March 31, 2023) - The Town of Mount Pleasant has been announced as one of 20 finalists for the prestigious 2023 All-America City Award. This recognition is awarded to municipalities that demonstrate innovation, civic engagement, and collaboration in their efforts to create a positive impact on their communities.
The All-America City Award is one of the highest honors that a community can receive. It is awarded by the National Civic League, a non-profit organization that promotes civic engagement and community building across the country. The award recognizes communities that have worked to improve the health and well-being of young people and, by extension, all residents. A primary focus was placed on communities that are authentically involving and welcoming youth in this work.
Being selected as a finalist for this award is a testament to Mount Pleasant's commitment to excellence and dedication to creating a vibrant and inclusive community for generations to come.
As a finalist, Mount Pleasant staff and community stakeholders will have the opportunity to present our community's successful initiatives to a panel of judges at the All-America City Award in Denver, Colorado. This competition is a unique opportunity to showcase the Town's achievements and learn from other communities across the country.
2023 marks the third time Mount Pleasant has been recognized as a finalist, having been awarded All-America City in both 2010 and 2018.
