MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (July 28, 2023) - Mount Pleasant’s Economic Development Manager, Matt Brady, has earned the prestigious title of SC Certified Economic Developer (SCCED). One of only nine individuals in South Carolina selected for the 2023 program, Brady received this designation upon his graduation from the South Carolina Economic Developer’s Association’s Advanced Symposium. To fulfill the symposium requirements, Brady studied a curriculum of courses covering topics such as negotiations, product and infrastructure development, site due diligence, deal structuring, incentives, marketing and communication strategies, and other topics relevant to the economic development profession. Each session throughout the robust year-long program involved graded exams followed by a final case study which was presented to a group of certified economic development professionals.
“I’m honored to receive this designation. The South Carolina Economic Developer’s Association’s Advanced Symposium prepared me to better serve the Town.” said Brady, “I look forward to applying the principles I learned through this certification to create more opportunities for Mount Pleasant.”
