You are applying for a demolition permit. Please note demolitions permits are issued on a discretionary basis and may be limited to true demolition of a structure or portion of a structure. Demolitions permits are not issued as a precursor to prepare the structure for future improvements or construction. The owner and/or contractor is responsible for any DHEC required survey and inspections including asbestos abatement. Contact Mount Pleasant Waterworks at (843) 884-9626 for any required inspections involving capping water and sewer services.

For demolition involving ground disturbance, please contact the Development Codes Inspectors in the Engineering and Environmental Division at (843) 856-3080. This is required to help determine if protected trees, as outlined in Section 156.220 of the Mount Pleasant Code of Ordinances, will be impacted and to determine if a clearing and grading permit is required prior to commencement of demolition. Appropriate silt fencing, tree barricades, etc. must be inspected PRIOR to demolition. Post demolition, please contact Building Inspections for a final inspection at (843) 884-5184.
